Hi.

I am an SE asian, non native english speaker. I had a kaplan gmat course back on 2004, but didn't take the exam that time because I got a good job offered. However, I scored around 550-560 with Kaplan's test at that time.

1st Attemp: I took a gmat on Nov 2006 with a terrible score of 490 (Q47V13) Shame on my I got fifth percentile on the Verbal. I was targetting about 550 for the first time so at least I can apply for local business school, but the result was too bad. I spent whole 3 days preparing before the test.

2nd Attemp: On Jan 2007, I got 530 (Q44V19). Still a pain in my arse. I tried hard to focus on Verbal part, resulting my verbal score increased a little bit, but my Quant decreased because I confused with the 1st Quant question (wordy) and picked up the wrong answer.

I think I am quite okay with my english because I got 86/120 for my first attemp to TOEFL iBt, Reading25/Speaking14/Listening23/Writing24. (Please ignore the speaking part, i had some stupid problem with the testing center)

My materials are everything of Kaplan's, and a PR 2005.

So, is there any way to increase my score up to 680 in 2 months? What should I do? Which area should I concentrate? and which material is recommended for me?

I would take some extra time. Maybe 4-6 months or closer to a year. Check rhyme's post on the B-school forum (thought I'd share or something) or johnnyx's post in the GMAT or share GMAT exp forums.

School will look at all scores and you would not want to have a bad 3rd attemp.

Hope it helps. L.

Have you looked at OG at all? If not, I would suggest you study it.
