Hi All,

This is my first post in this forum.

Can someone clarify if taking GMAT no of times(say 3- 4 times) be any hindrance for getting admission into top schools...

I would consider 3 or 4 administrations to be the upper limit for most applicants. If you take the test too many times it might send the wrong signal to admissions officers. They might interpret multiple attempts as evidence that you are putting too much emphasis on the GMAT and not enough on other aspects of your application.

In addition, I think that there is a positive psychological effect of limiting yourself to only a few sittings in that it encourages you to exert an alpha effort before taking each test.

If you haven't taken GMAT yet, I would advice you to put your best efforts , think that this will the only time you will take GMAT and try to crack the GMAT in you first attempt.

If it is not your first attempt, treat the next attempt as you last and give it your best shot.

Hi Hjort/Nocilis,

thanx for your replies.

No I have not yet taken GMAT, and sure will have your suggestions in mind.

Am an Indian CA and presently working with a MNC bank on a contract basis(will that be any constraint when I try for top schools). And any clue on how much min exp. these top schools look for(BTW am having around 2 yrs if exp).

thanx for your time..
