Non traditional Female applicant [#permalink] New post 16 Dec 2012, 17:23
Stacy
Will keep my post short:
I am a non traditional applicant interested to be on the Operational side of healthcare services such as hospitals etc ( desire to work for Tenet Health/HCA etc ) post mba.
I have a BS (non engineering/non finance but health related)+ MA and a Clinical doctorate from Vanderbilt Medical school , all with 4 GPA. Rank 1 throughout. >100K USD in scholarship etc. Asian background. Worked with Veterans affairs and private clinics. Over all <4 years exp and age 31.
Gmat score is not great ...650.
Do you think there is a glimmer of hope for HBS, Darden, Duke or Emory with this profile?

Please advise ... thanks!

Hi masterblaster,

Thanks for posting. The most glaring concern I see is regarding your GMAT score, as it is a fair amount below the averages of the programs you are considering. Have you considered taking the exam again? The reason is that your highest score is self-reported on your business school application, so admissions teams will focus on your best score. I believe a score of 700 could greatly improve your application.
