If N is a positive integer, what is the last digit of 4N ?

1 ( N^2)is divisible by 4
2 N+2 is divisible by 6
(A)Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but Statement (2) ALONE is not sufficient
(B)Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but Statement (1) ALONE is not sufficient
(C)BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient
(D)EACH statement ALONE is sufficient
(E)Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

Please help me understand the best way to solve this one.

ans E...
way is to substitute value and still do it fast..
i) n^2 divisible by 4....n can be any even int so last digit of 4n can be (4*2=8),(4*4=16),(4*6=24) so last digit can be 8,6,4,2etc not suff.
ii)n+2 is divisible by 6... n can be 4,10,16... so last digit can be 6,0,4... not suff..
combined more than value common so not suff...
