Hi Guys,
For the first essay, are you planning to take up qualities described by Mr. Hsieh and elaborate on why they are important for a business leader today? or write about how your personal qualities match up with those described by him, quoting examples? I'm confused. Request help. Thanks.
Guys help plz!
Hi Amrit,
I submitted my application for NUS yesterday and I took the approach of elaboration of a quality and its importance. However, you don't need to do that for all the qualities as the question says which aspect you resonate most with. Plus take care of another part of the question as well in which you've to ask Mr. Hsieh a quation.
So keeping in mind the word limit, you can take either of the approaches. Going for the aspect you resonate most with and showing how you demonstrated that aspect in your professional life or elaborating on the importance of any of the aspects. But in either of these scenarios, you'll have to write a few words on why the aspect is important b'cos then only you'll be able to show why you resonate most with that aspect.

You can find out what you can or cannot do on ica website (www(dot)ica(dot)gov(dot)sg) under student pass (Home->Visitors->Student's Pass->Apply for Student's Pass) Unfortunately, there is not much information in black and white on this topic and a lot depends on your passport. If you are carrying US/EU/UK/AU/NZ passport, you can stay 90 days every time you enter and then hop across Malaysia and come back to get another 90 days. But if you do it TOO many times, immigration officer can warn you. In any case, Singapore is an expensive place for foreigners to live without a reasonable job for a long time. If you are from a country which requires visa to enter, in that case you'll get 90 days visa after canceling your student pass. If you still need more time to find a job, you can apply for LTVP. Based on my experience a few year ago, you can apply for LTVP to stay UTPO one year but actual duration will depend on the mood of the officer on the day of the processing of your application. But you might have to leave Singapore if LTVP is not processed within 90 days of student pass cancellation.

Guys,
Want to know about the post-MBA work permit in Singapore. Please comment if you are aware that for how much time we can stay in Singapore post our MBA, if we don't have a job in hand.

Hi, I applied for a PhD-MBA integrated and got an interview call. I have my GMAT scheduled on the very next day. Can I request to reschedule my interview so that I get time to prepare for GMAT and then for the interview.
Please reply immediately as I need to respond promptly.
I am not sure whether this reply is early enough or not, but you can always send a polite mail regarding the change of dates for the interview.

Based on my experience when I was studying (Non-MBA course) at NUS many years ago a- If you're working part time, you can only work 16 hours a week. This part time work can be related to any field. This can include working at McDonalds b- Industrial attachment is like internship where a student is working full time, 40 hours a week for whole summer or one/two semesters. Normally, such industrial attachment is part of your degree requirements considering you are working full time.
If you are doing internship as part of your MBA requirements or something arranged by INSEAD, you don't need to worry. You can work 40 hours a week during that internship. But if you're planning to do something on your own, you can only work 16 hours a week.
I was wondering. Do you think you'll be able to get time to work part time while studying full time for MBA
Thanks a lot for the reply MsPineapple and for the links!!!! Just checked the webpage regarding work for students and I am confused. It says that "[a student can work if he:] is under an industrial attachment programme conducted by his educational institution. The industrial attachment must either be a compulsory or elective programme which should contribute towards the students’ graduation from the course." So does it mean that I can only work if the school arranges it?

Hi Getgyan,
I may be applying too but probably not right away. I couldn't find the essay topics anywhere on the application portal. Do you have any clue?

Not yet but will keep you posted. Are you done with your GMAT?
Yes I am. Scored a 700. In the process of understanding the application process etc. now.
Another doubt. In case an offer for admission is made from NUS, how soon does the applicant have to accept the offer? Wanted to know so that I can get a general idea about submission dates and compare with other colleges. The website doesn't offer much help either.

There are 3 more additional essays (2 of which are not applicable to all applicants).
1) Why is it important for you to embark on your MBA now? (max 300 char) 2) Have you ever applied to the NUS MBA Program or its Double Degree programs? If yes, please state the year and the result of your application. (max 300 char) 3) If you are a re-applicant to the NUS MBA Program or its Double Degree programs, please highlight your progress since your last application. (max 300 char)
I was going to apply to NUS as well, but I got accepted into SMU and will be matriculating there instead. Shorter course length and start date.

Hello People,
I have a GMAT of 710 and planning to apply to NUS as well. I was wondering what are the deadlines for NUS. The application process seems to be a bit different from the US B schools. Was wondering if someone can throw a light on the deadlines etc

@freehandle: Have you tried looking at their website? I think they only have 2 Rds of application, and scholarship round is R1, which ends Dec 31 if I'm not wrong.

Hi
Has anyone been able to locate the questions for letters of recommendation for NUS intake?
Although I tried adding 2 recommendors after logging into NUS application page, but they have not received any sort of mail - the way it happens in other US B Schools.
