There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Thank you, klr. The information you posted clears up my concerns regarding the age/experience factor. Great profile and experience/background btw, can certainly see an application just a few days late being considered normally, given the value you would bring to the classroom in a finance-heavy bus. school.
langone2009 and klr, do either of you guys know of someone who was admitted, denied their admission, and reapplied at a later point? Does/Could reapplying under those conditions affect your admissions decision the second time around? I guess the applicant in question could write Essay 4 describing why they couldn't attend the first year.
Since pre-term falls on a weekend, it shouldn't be a problem. It is the weekend after labor day weekend, fyi.
I don't know anyone specifically, but if you look at the website: www.stern.nyu.edu click on prospective students and look for FAQ under applying and it states no deferment and you have to reapply.
If you look around the website there is a lot of good info. If you click on current students, instead of prospective you can see alot of info about classes etc without needing a password (you can go into sternlinks for part time and actually see sample class syllabi, etc.). It will be something to keep you guys busy while you are waiting to hear
I do know someone who was supposed to start with me last fall, but he couldn't make it to pre-term so they wouldn't let him in until the spring after he attended pre-term. I don't believe he had to reapply, but I don't know. He was none too happy about having to wait and wouldn't even discuss it.
I just wanted to say congratulations Vlookup2010! I echo uyko's sentiments, you must have had an incredible application and it is no surprise you have been accepted. Now the rest of us will be checking our email more incessantly than ever! Good luck everyone!
One of my coworkers just got his notification around 12:30 PM today... he'll be doing the Washington Square weeknights program.
I'm not sure of his exact stats, but I know we work for the same company, same title, went to same undergrad, same major... he did a bit better than me on the GMAT ("around" 700 he said)...
I'm hoping I hear soon!! Having someone I know so well accepted makes me antsy! Another coworker of mine applied and hasn't heard anything yet... I know he did Notre Dame business undergrad and is a pretty smart guy.
Look at all these acceptances flooding in! Congrats all.
So to those accepted, do you have access to the database so we can see how many spots are left? If so, let us know how it stands.
Also, word to the wise, get started on that background check ASAP. According to threads from previous years, cleareance can take up to 5 weeks. I'm sure you are all good people, so nothing to worry about, but just in case.
Congratulations to everyone who got in !!!!! I have got to stop staring at my email and refreshing it million times... lol... it seems to me that everyone who got their acceptances today opted for the Washington Square Weeknights program. Any1 got in the westchester option yet????
Great job to all who got in I will admit to freaking out initially when I read that some of you guys got in and I heard nothing. This is probably the most agonizing part of the entire application process.
Whatever the case is, good luck and keep the faith!
PS: If I do get in, cupcake treats are on me. And I make a kick-case chocolate fudge cupcake
Question.....is there a deadline to accept NYU's offer of admissions? I am curious if NYU waits for the accepted people to respond before they continue with their second round of offers. I am assuming they would continue to offer admissions as long as there is space availability??
