While you may get a response from someone on the forum to answer your question, I would still recommend you contact the NYU admissions office soley for the reason that it's a good excuse to interact with them. I find that often applicants are reluctant to interface with the admissions office, when it's actually a very good idea to identify yourself as an applicant and begin to get to know the folks in admssions. Remember, your hope is to stand out in the process, not to slip through their fingers as a shadow ( I am not implying this is your intention, simply encouraging you to reach out to them with this legitimate question). Much better to do this now than to try and "cook up" a reason to get with them down the road.
