its a great school, my friend is currently a student. loves it.
Your credentials seem up to par. their averages are 3.4 and 700.
I live in manhattan myself right now, id love to go there but think I have a legitmate shot.

Mark, I think NYU is definitely within your range. With that said, NYU really wants students who will actually attend NYU. And the way they gauge this is through your involvement in the NYU community. You will have to do plenty of research, get in touch with Alums/Student/Profs and get their insight on the school. You should be willing to do class visits/campus visits and everything else that will prove your dedication to NYU. They are very sensitive of their yields because of their ivy league northern neighbor.
good luck!

Same thing happened to me - I sent them an email, they responded with an email containing the admissions office number.
Mark, are you pushing for R1 or 2?

Mark,
NYU is great for finance. looking at their employment reports, they are heavily focused on the financial industry, which is what you're looking for.
I would also consider Georgetown, where finance is clearly their strongpoint.

Well, it's a little weird.
"Initial Notification. If your application was completed by the deadline, you will receive an initial notification no later than the notification date. You will be emailed when your status has been updated on the Application Status Check Website."
So I guess you're only guaranteed notification before the 'notification date' if you apply before the deadlines.
R1 - Dec 1
R2 - Jan 15

According to what's quoted above, yes. I spoke with a former Stern admissions associate director a while ago and I remember her saying that it's different from Columbia's 'rolling' policy. I'll confirm what she said and get back to you.

Judging by my experience there as an undergrad all I can say is "typical Stern" (take that with a grain of salt though as my experience is not representative of the MBA program). If you're looking for top notch academics you will get them for sure, I was a finance major and learned a ton, but NYU is not particularly known for its school spirit.

Hey Mark, I am trying to make the Dec 1 deadline for Stern also.
And I also sent an email to their graduate ambassadors and all I got was a thank you email....
I'm guessing we are all trying to get more info for Essay 2? I definitely won't get a chance to visit the campus before I submit my app... If anyone has any hints or suggestions please post here!
thanks!
