either cows or pigs = 2/3 (60) = 40

A: c = 2p
c+p = 40
2p+p = 40
3p = 40
p = 40/3 = 13.33
so 13 and suff.

B: p>12
p could be 13, or 14 or 39.

I'm clearly missing something...

We know that pigs+cows=40, right?

From statement 1, it should be 26 2/3 cows and 13 1/3 pigs, as stated by GMAT TIGER.

How can we have fractions of these animals? Is the OA really [C]?

Does the GMAT include questions like this that don't really make sense? I must be missing a key factor in this problem...

How do we know the farm only has pigs and cows? Something must be missing in the question.
