It is basically the same as the 11th Edition. About 1/3 of the questions are new, all of which test the same concepts as the ones that have been replaced. If you already have the 11th Edition, there's no need to buy the 12th. There are several boldfaced CR questions, questions that have already been posted in gmatclub.

I just glanced through the OG12 at Barnes and Noble and practically saw the same problems as the ones in OG 11, especially in Quant. It's probably not worth purchasing the OG12 if you have the Orange book.

Most questions for quant and verbal on 12th edition are the same as 11th edition. For 1/3 new questions, most are from GMATprep and GMAT Focus. It 's good if you want some explanations for the GMATprep questions since the GMATprep doesn't have explanations at all. But there are lots of great explanations on the forum as well if you search for the questions posted. So I think you can save your money if you already have 11th edition with you.

Hi, I have a quick question regarding the different editions for the GMAT Official Guide.

I currently have the 11th edition. I want to get the 12th edition at the store for more substantial practice questions. However, I don't want the newer edition to be the same as edition 11. Can someone let me know if the 12th edition is substantially different than the 11th? If that is the case, then I will finish these questions and buy the newer edition. These questions are just too good to waste!

Thanks for the help!
Sirj

Seems like it is very similar..maybe you will get more bang for your buck if you do these challenges, or other material.

I purchased the 12th edition yesterday at Borders. I have to say that I am a little disappointed. There really is not a whole lot new. I would say that about 60-65% is old content and the format/layout/etc. has not changed. Entire sections are complete copy and paste. There really aren't any new type of questions that I have seen (spent about 5 hours looking over it last night).

Thanks! That is very helpful. They really examined the new book is LOTS of detail. I suspect they got an advanced copy or something because all the categorization and old vs. new is really impressive.

I picked it up for 2 reasons:

1. I had a credit with Amazon.

2. I need to go back and re-do OG questions, and the markings I made in OG 11 are too distracting.

I dig what MGMAT did, but not sure if I need such a breakdown.

Guys,
I've recently checked mba.com and got to know that OG12 is available (I thought that so far 11th was the latest edition). Has anyone tried it? Is the difficulty level higher than that of OG10 and 11? Just wonder whether it's worth buying. :)
