Overall, I get about 70% correct on Official Guide Verbal and Quant... (Skinny Seperate books... not the thick one)

even though, beginning questions are supposed to be easy and latter ones are harder,
I scored very sparsely...

my question is...

Q: How well do I need to perform on OG books to score over 700 on real test?
Anyone didn't score perfect (under 90%) on OG and score over 700 on real test? anyone?

Score prediction isn't as straightforward as that. Learn from the OG. Get some practice from it. But please try not to use your performance on the OG to predict your score.

Hi won13,

The OG books are great sources for practice questions, but there isn't any book (not even the OG) that can properly predict your performance on the Official GMAT. To get a realistic score assessment, you have to take a FULL-LENGTH CAT in a realistic and test-like fashion.

So, have you taken any FULL CATs yet? If you have, then how did you score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

1) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

It is tough to correlate performance in OG to an actual GMAT score. But I would guess that a 700 scorer would get 90%+ correct on the OG. Of course the best way to get a solid assessment of where you stand is to take a full length CAT from the free official GMATPrep software.

Generally agree with statements above -- but wanted to note that the relative percentage for verbal is more lenient than it is for quant.

Getting 90% of verbal questions will set you apart a bit more than getting 90% of quant questions in OG correct. So when you mention 90% -- I would look a little bit on the higher side for where the bar is set for quant and a little bit on the lower side for where the bar is set for verbal.
