Hello There,
You should send the diploma transcript...but if you have failed courses and they are reflecting on your transcript, then you should send the alternative degree that you have (assuming it is also a diploma and you did not fail!). But lets say you failed one or 2 courses, and later you received superior grades, then you can put up some kind of story to justify the Fails!!
Also please keep in mind that either way you have to submit your Diploma transcript, it is mandatory.
Positive side: B-schools take holistic view of candidate, many people get rejected with GMAT score above 750...GMAT is s**t...and adcom knows it...it is just the most quantifiable part of the application with same benchmark throughout the world, hence it is famous among candidates.
I suggest you present some interesting stints from your life (everyone has something interesting to share), make good score in GMAT/GRE (either one will do fine), arrange nice recommendations, add leadership examples - including community services if any, something out of the street you did, some vagabond stuff and anything you deem suitable!! You will be fine - do yourself a favor...just dont submit yourself in others shoes, remember - just make your application interesting!! It is good enough to get you in a nice business school!
Good Luck!
