OG 11th edition question [#permalink] New post 21 Mar 2006, 23:05
First of all hello, I am new to this forum and would like to compliment all of you for providing such a great resource for information.

I have been lurking here for while and my big day is next week, specifically the 27th.

Up until now I have felt quite well prepared for the exam and have not had any particular concepts that I feel too uncomfortable with (with the exception of permutation and probability). I have gone through the Kaplan materials and worked through OG 11. This evening I worked through the diagnostic test in the official guide and was really disappointed with my performance. I felt like the questions were much more difficult than most of the other ones in the book (I am specifically referring to PS and DS). Under the guidelines for the diagnostic, they specifically mention that you should take your time (i.e. not time yourself). Maybe this explains why the questions are so much more difficult?

Have any of you worked through these problems? How did you feel that the problems were in terms of difficulty? There are a couple of really easy ones, but for the most part I felt like they were fairly difficult. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Also, have any of you purchased the Official Review for Quant. or for Verbal? Any recommendations? Apparently there is no overlap between these and the Official Guide.

Charlie45,

First of all the diagnostic test of OG was meant to be solved before you start the preparation. Thatz why they didn't mention any time limit.

Anyway I think the difficulty level of these problems is just OK. and as many people in this forum are saying that Quantitative of VUE is little bit harder that ETS, one can expects the problems of this level of difficulty in real Exam....

But hey, that really doesn't mean that you are not doing well if you scored less in those problems... Try solving tests like GMATPrep as these tests resemble more to the real test than OG diagnostic test

All the best for the exam. :)
