I believe A is best. We are comparing to like things: the courage of Jackie Robinson vs that of Rosa Parks. Hence, we need

Answer A is right. But I don't understand the logic. Isin't it that we have two negatives here: "..not unlike that.." and we should always refrain from using this type of constructions. Isn't it that we could ideally replace "..not unlike that.." with "like that"? I am confused here. Please help.

well, all other choices using "like" have grammatical errors
C) comparing Robinson's courage to Rosa Parks herself
D) "for refusing" changes the meaning of the sentence and it is as if it is Robinson's courage "which refused" when it should really be "Parks" herself who refused to go to the back of the bus
E) "as" is a conjunction and should be followed by a clause which includes verb+subject. "like", preposition, is better to compare two objects in a prepositional phrase(which does not contain verb)

Hi Tapsemi,

This is an example of a litotes (understatement). A litotes makes a positive statement indirectly by stating a contradictory proposition. Certain double negatives may be used. :)
