Ok so I used to be, or so I thought really good at CR. Then something happened and I wasn't able to answer anything. I was hitting like 50-60% on CR1000 and getting frustrated. Now over the last 25 from CR1000 I am at 88% 22/25. I figured out what I was doing wrong and offer this advice.
Now I don't know whether it will help everyone, but reread each sentence twice and paraphrase. Then as you go to the next sentence connect that sentence paraphrased to your first paraphrased sentence and so on. Now you may lose a little time doing this, but for me it's better then getting to the questions and forgetting what you read. This way you have a clearer understanding or argument and not get bogged down in the language. I know this is probably a common strategy, but I must have not been using it. You still need to understand the argument, but this will make it clearer to see.
