Therefore, if the work on Tuesday started at 8:10 am, then it would be finished at 8:10 am + 3 hours and 12 minutes = 11:22 am.

5 parts need 4 hour, so 1 part need 4/5 hours, which means that 4 parts need 4*(4/5) hours. _________________

If you're ever confused by "fractional data" that includes measurements (in this case, "hours"), you might be able to avoid doing "fractional math" by converting units. Here's how:

We're told that it takes 4 hours to complete 5/9 of a job.

4 hours = 4(60) = 240 minutes to complete 5/9 of a job

Since 240 = (5/9) of the job 240/5 = 1/9 of the job 48 minutes = 1/9 of the job

From here, figuring out how long it will take to finish the final 4/9 of the job won't be too tough..

48(4) = 192 minutes = 4/9 of the job

192 minutes = 3 hours 12 minutes

It's important to note that we're starting from 8:10 am, so an additional 3 hours 12 minutes takes us to 11:22am

he completed 5/9 in 4 hours. knowing this, we can calculate his rate in 1 hour or 5/9*1/4 = 5/36. Each hour, he completes 5 parts of the work. since he worked for 4 hours, he completed 20 parts of the work, leaving 16 parts for the next day. now this gets interesting. 16 parts that's slightly more than 3 hours. We can eliminate answer choices D and E. since 16/5 = 3 with a remainder 1, we can calculate that 1/5 of an hour is 12 minutes. Since he started working on the album at 8:10 AM, after 3hours 12 minutes he finished. 10+12 = 22, thus it must be B, 11:22.
