On the number line the distance between point A and C is 5 and the distance between point B and C is 20. Does point C lie between A and B?

1. Distance between A and B is 25
2. A lies to the left of B

1 is enough

2. is sufficient too.

I would go for "both alone are sufficient"

St1:
Insufficient. Could be B on the left, A in the middle and C on the right OR COuld be A or the left, C in the middle and B on the right etc.

St2:
C could be on the left of A or the right of B. Insufficient.

Using both st1 and st2:
C must be in the middle. Sufficient.

A number line is just a line indicating positions of a number with respect to another number.

Think of it as ruler except that this ruler can go negatives.
