D seems fine..but was wondering that on what grounds..compared to in A is incorrect. Paul, any insight for using compared to rather than "than" or vice versa?

How about this

-- "compared to" would compare the hubble space telescope to other telescope
-- "than" would compare the light sources

So D is right

Any opinion ?
