One stop shop for Reference Books! [#permalink] New post 06 Jun 2006, 13:40
Hi All,

I just joined 2 days back. I totally agree that theres tons of information here. But from a beginners perspective, it is too scattered. So i wanted a post that would just dedicate on reference material(books / online materials / tests) to ace GMAT with 700+ score.

Each of us have different strengths and weakness. So i would like to have a comprehensive list , for ex,
Quant
Weak - Specific Quant books with strong basics and comprehensive problems to help the person other than the usual KAPLAN / OG
Average - Books just enough to brush up your knowledge and practise
Strong - Books with lots os practise tests
and similarly for all the sections

This is just an idea. If the same can be better represented, pls let me know. Also if such a post already exists  pls suggest the link.

Cheers Anywayz to all MBA Aspirants!!!

Regardless of level, I recommend you obtain the Manhattan books, and OG guide.

I concur. Manhattan and OG guides are essentials. Kaplan and other guides are optional and in fact it's better to visit forums rather than go for too many guides after finishing with OG.

Here is a link to the Manhattan website
http://www.manhattangmat.com/store2.cfm

If you are in the US you can also try http://www.bn.com (thats Barnes and Nobles).Where are you located?

The lowest price for OG 11 and manhattan books I found on the web (for brand new book) was at Buy.com. They also provide free shipping for $25+ orders. Amazon and BN were a tad more expensive, and both charge taxes in my state.

Just FYI, since you are in N.America, Buy.com may be a good option for you. (warning - shipping is slow since they ship using media mail. So if you need the book really fast, get it from your local BN).
