Hi BB, Just like we have Gmat score estimator, if we can have online assessment tool where we can fill our basic profile information and it can filter out some colleges based on few factors like. Gmat, Gpa, workex, nationality, workex domain blah blah.... For those who have not appeared for Gmat could filter it out on the basis of geography, salary, global ranking, cost, financial aids for different countries. There are lots of misleading rankings available on internet and we usually go after that rather than our interest. Eg if Booth is good for entrepreneurs why to select any xyz just because of ranking. We can tag different schools according to their specialization. I know its very easy to say but first step is must to do anything.

What do you think of this one? Do we need to create our own? http://www.veritasprep.com/business-school-selector/

This seems to be Good. But I think if we could include rankings, financial aids, salary, increase in salary, cost of education, cost of living in that city, proficiency of the school in particular stream like booth for entrepreneurship etc etc, that would be great. I guess we need big database for this to cover all the niche details. But once done this will be handy tool for analysis. IMO if we can build a powerful tool similar to our score estimator which will provide probability for every college, rather than filtering them. Eg I will input the details and it will give me the list of the colleges according to the best suitability. It will be having a column of %chances. The user could easily filter out where exactly he should go, I think 50%+ people just do MBA for salary rise and it doesnt matter to them what is the rank of school ,all they need is good salary hike. So they can directly filter out those colleges where they could spend less for fee and get good salary hike...in other words best ROI.

Probability of acceptance and stats for each school tool has been attempted before by a few folks and there are a few out there. However, the issue with all of them is that a person with GMAT 760 may not be admitted to a school where a person with GMAT 710 was accepted due to the quality of essays, work experience, and recommendation letters, which are impossible to evaluate...
