Only cell phone towers equipped with LTE radios can transmit data at speeds high enough so that users can watch a movie without downloading the entire movie first. To be able to stream movies however, the user must have an LTE equipped cell phone. While most people had LTE equipped cell phones in Arizona two years ago, the number of cell phone towers with LTE has quadrupled during this time. Since there has been no significant addition in the number of LTE cell phones and the new towers have not increased coverage, the number of people in Arizona streaming movies has not changed in the last two years.

Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends?

A.Few, if any, LTE towers that have been added in the last two years ago broadcast to people who were not covered earlier.
B.The number of people who download movies first on their phones and then play them has not increased in the last two years.
C.No user who was unable to stream movies two years ago is able to do so today because of the capacity added by the new towers.
D.The users who did not have LTE two years ago were not able to receive any service from LTE equipped cell phone towers.
E. No user who did not have a LTE cell phone two years ago owns one now.

Official explanation will be posted at a later stage.

Kudos me if you like this post !!!!!!!!!!!

A.Few, if any, LTE towers that have been added in the last two years ago broadcast to people who were not covered earlier.--- Incorrect because this states that few LTE towers have increased the coverage. Few LTE towers broadcast to people who were not covered earlier. But the passage states that the addition of LTE towers does not increase coverage.
B.The number of people who download movies first on their phones and then play them has not increased in the last two years.--- Out of scope, No information provided on the number of people who download movies and then watch.
C.No user who was unable to stream movies two years ago is able to do so today because of the capacity added by the new towers.--- CORRECT, This is correct because the passage states the towers have not increased coverage. This is a valid assumption that falls along those lines.
D.The users who did not have LTE two years ago were not able to receive any service from LTE equipped cell phone towers.--- Out of scope, We are only concerned about movies. What if LTE towers provided them with games or high speed browsing. The words ANY SERVICE is too extreme.
E. No user who did not have a LTE cell phone two years ago owns one now.---- The passage states no significant addition in the number of LTE Cell phones. This means there could be a small increase. We only need 1 person to prove this incorrect.

Conclusion:number of people in Arizona streaming movies has not changed in the last two years.

Premise 1: LTE towers have increased but have not increased coverage.
Premise 2: People having LTE phone remains same.

Pre-think: Previously available no. of towers use to cover existing no. of LTE subscribes.

A.Few, if any, LTE towers that have been added in the last two years ago broadcast to people who were not covered earlier. - This is against the possibility, because any company will increase the no. of towers only if there is an extra load on existing towers.

B.The number of people who download movies first on their phones and then play them has not increased in the last two years. Out of Scope - We are not concerned about those people, who download the movie first.

C.No user who was unable to stream movies two years ago is able to do so today because of the capacity added by the new towers. - Tricky one - to stream a video you need two things, LTE enabled phones and connectivity. If no. of phones did not increase then those users remain same.

D.The users who did not have LTE two years ago were not able to receive any service from LTE equipped cell phone towers. This is out of scope. This is not the assumption between premise and conclusion.

E. No user who did not have a LTE cell phone two years ago owns one now. This is may be or may not be true.True if he did not buy new, and not true if he did buy second hand phone.

Although I marked A but now i see that C is the correct one as it a Defender Assumption and by negating it we get to see that it is weakening the conclusion( that no of users hasn't increased), i .e C on negation will show that the no of LTE users streaming movies has indeed increased despite the no of LTE enabled phones remaining constant. Hope this helps !! :)
