Optional Break times in new GMAT format ? [#permalink] New post 19 Aug 2012, 12:00
Can some one give me a time split for optional breaks in the new exam format, please ?

I know there are 2 optional breaks but need to know the exact minutes after IR and quant ?

Planning to take exam in a fortnight---early next year intake. Looking for good 1 year full time program.

Target schools -- ISB, Kellog---- any more suggestions ?

Is the IR in actual exam easier than what it is in GMAT prep ? This is what I remember seeing in a couple of posts.

Two optional breaks are

1) immediately after the IR Section - 8 minutes (Remember the break time will include the signing/thumb print time as well.So effectively you would have ~7 minutes only)
2)immediately after QA Section - 8 minutes (~7 minutes )

The actual IR Section was a replica of the gmat prep. The exact replica. You will get same type of questions, with the SAME difficulty level. Not lower and not higher.
Hope this answers all your queries.

Can you suggest B-schools that offer a good 1 year full time program like Kellog or ISB ?

Is this 8 minute break sufficient to eat a piece of fruit and go to the bathroom?

Well, it is a subjective question as it depends upon how long you take.

Also depends how long the proctor takes to check you in/out - I have heard some horror stories about losing a few minutes due to people waiting in the check-in area or the proctor saying that you can take all the time you want only to show up and see 3mins taken off the test..... but that's pretty uncommon.
