hi Guys/Ladies

I am working on my Cornell optional Essay and undecided on what to write on. I would like to discuss one of the 3 items below.

1) I received a C+ on my Physic 2 class during my freshman in college
(I didn't know what I really wanted)

2) There is a 3 month grap between the time I graduated and the time I started my first full time job.
(My grandfather passed away and I flied away for a month during that time, the other two month I was doing some temp jobs and going around for interviews)

3) My recent leadership role at not for a non for profit organization. I led a bunch of volunteer and do some community service for a day at a local school.
(I thought this might be helpful since I don't have much leadership experience)

Can someone please suggest which one I should write on my optional essay?

I would go for #3
Definitely not #1 as you were a freshman
#2 not everyone finds a job straight out of college

Now if you had a 3 month gap between jobs then yes

i agree, go for #3. i had a few c's throughout my transcript that i didn't address... similarly, i started working 5 months after my graduation, and i only briefly mentioned it in another essay (in half a sentence.. basically i wrote that i was "taking my time trying to find a job that would put me closer to my desired industry"). in your case, you could also explain it in one of the other essays, although 3 months is a very short time, and i dont think anyone would question you for that.
