B is out sinnce it has two modifier at the beginning...
C, D and E have modifer problem...modifer modifying 'technique' should be kept close to it...
A is the only option having correctly placed modifer...I am not sure about the use of 'which' here...

Agree with A. The use of which is correct here since it is following a comma and includes somewhat non-essential information. The sentence would still be right if stated without the which part.

My ans is C,provided the usage of "which" is justified.My disgreement with "A" is it does not provide properly the subject for the verb "is finding"
Please corect if i m wrong.

Between A & B, B has modifier problem. So, keeping A.
Between C & D, ‘has the ability’ in D is excessive. So, keeping C.
Between C & E, ‘ A technique that was..’ ‘that was’ is excessive in E.
Now left with A & C.
I prefer ‘a technique called prton-…’ in A as in ‘C’ technique and its name have some distance.

B is wrong because has too many consecutive modifiers... confusing
C & D are wrong because the clause between comas "called proton-induced x-ray emission" seems to refer to "air pollutants". Reference for "which" is also ambiguous
E is wrong because of the final misplacement of the protoninduced clause.
A is my answer!
