Why are Cambridge and Oxford lumped together in the same thread?

My Interview Experience: Mon 8th Nov Scheduled 10:50 am

There were 7 of us in total with interview times from 9:30 t0 11:40 am and then we all met for lunch, attended selection of MBA class and final discussion with Adcom before finishing at 3:45 pm

The interview was generic. Before going to the interviewer my transcript copies were checked and photocopies were taken for Admin purposes.

Interview Qs:
1. Why MBA?
2. Why Oxford?
3. Tell me about your current job and what are your responsibilities?
4. What is your definition of a leader?
5. How do you work best in team or as an individual?
6. Have you faced any challenging experience dealing with customers? What was the situation, my role and outcome?
7. Anything else that I felt she should have asked , or I feel would add to my candidacy.

--------------
I asked:
1. Oxford's 10 year plan and reliance on rankings?
2. Why very few scholarships for us Brits?
3. Specific question on Vodafone Technology Management fund.

Hope this is descriptive enough. If you want any more details please pm me.

All the best!

Besides cpandya14's questions, be prepared for:
If no MBA, then what?
If unable to get into your desired job after MBA, then which path, what route?

Stick to some plan for these two questions. Rest is what cpandya14 said, generic and pretty straightforward.
And the current students were really amazing, they came to talk when I was waiting for the interview and reassured me (I was nervous).
It was an open day too, so met other applicants. And lastly, don't forget to take your transcripts with you, and if you are planning for other schools in later rounds where a certified copy is required(if an official transcript is unavailable), now is the time, you might be asked to submit your original transcript to the school.
Good luck!!

Thank you so much.

Again in the last year's forums I did see that a few of students worrying about college to pick. Do we need to expect any such questions this time? I mean do we need to pick some Oxford colleges that we would want to stay during the course? Does anyone know if such questions will be part of the interview process.

I would say, don't worry about the college selection at this point. This question might not draw much merit now. If you do want, prepare for 'Other schools you are applying for and a short Why'. I heard someone was enquired about this too.
Thanks

college selection is not that difficult and once you are offered a place SBS staff help you. Most people from SVS choose Green Templeton , but that bridge only needs to be crossed when we come to that point. At the mo.. fingers crossed for 10th Dec....

makes sense....cannot agree more with you. I heard these questions are asked in the interview, so I wanted to check if such questions are indeed asked. Thank you for the clarification.

No. Unless you want to switch career into financial services. Even then Oxbridge both have good placement record for career switchers.

Would the results be published only on 10th? Anyone started thinking about financing? Heard HSBC UK has stopped study loans?

this might be a dumb question, but does oxford have social clubs? I haven't found anything on their website and it's usually very easy to find club information for most schools.

Oxford's version is called Oxford Business Networks (Check the brochure for some info on that) and they exist for areas like consulting, finance, entrepreneuship, etc..

Here's an interesting dilemma. I scanned my transcripts into a pdf document, but the file is too large (right now it's 1.4 MB, they allow up to 500 KB). Any suggestions on how to compress a pdf document? Or how to change the resolution so the document scans at a lower resolution?
