Guess my post didn't go through on my blackberry last night! I got the invite too! Very excited. As to the SBS vs. JBS: For me it came down to my future career goals, which are working in social finance. The alum and current students I talked to at JBS were much more focused on traditional banking and consulting roles post-mba and weren't really aware of any social enterprise initiatives or specializations on campus, whereas the alum and current students at SBS I know/talked to during the process are all in the space or plan to move towards it in the near future. I'm sure there are students at JBS that are interested in social finance, but for me, it makes a lot more sense to go to a school where it is the focus of the entire school and a significant piece of the reputation and not just an area that people can study. That being said, I was incredibly impressed by the JBS admissions staff, they were attentive, willing to answer questions and very encouraging from the start. I have no doubts it would have been a good experience as well. Best of luck to everyone at the interviews! Looking forward to mine in Mumbai.

Hello! Does anyone have an idea of what the Oxford interview questions are like (and in general any details about the interviews)?

The Oxford interview questions can really be anything, depending on the interviewer. For example mine was a breeze, whereas with others it's sometimes been terrible. Look out for the "Oxford question", a consulting-type of question that tests your ability to think out-of-the-box.

Zidoas
Can you send me an email through the GMATclub system, telling me what name you used in your application? I will check our system. We sent out the emails some time ago, so I am concerned that you have not received our email.
For some reason, I can't send any private emails through the GMATClub system but I can read them so you should be fine if you sent me an email.
Kind regards

Sorry but when you say yours was a breeze, does that mean you got the standard interview questions: why mba, why mba now, why oxford etc.? Do you have any info on the 'terrible' interviews?

Hi Conrad, I've replied back to your PM. Unfortunately I am at work and GMAT forum access is restricted so I can only access the site thru my cell phone and the layout and functions seem to be simplified. Thank you for your help. Regards, Steven CambridgeMBA wrote: Zidoas

Do you have any info on the 'terrible' interviews? Well, that is exactly what I was asked. The rest of my interview was about how to place me in Oxford, how I would, with my background and goals, maximize my experience and benefit in Oxford. I got the feeling they wanted me, which gave the interview a relaxed and safe atmosphere. I actually learned quite much about the possibilities in Oxford, since my interviewer was a member of the careers team. I heard one of the people on the Oxford adcom is an older professor who can be pretty strict and scary. He employs some stress interview techniques to throw people off their feet. I don't know whether he uses them against everyone, structurally, or only against people who appear to be very confident. I've spoken to two people who apparently have been interviewed by the same person, but these two certainly did not lack confidence. But this is really just hearsay, not my first-hand experience.
