Yes .. most probably it will be between 700 and 730. I Would like to let you know that an admission at Oxford depends on various factors among which GMAT is just one criteria. Although it is important, GMAT alone cannot fecth an admission into any top league university. Indians, generally, tend to have high GMAT scores curtesy to the highly quant oriented Indian education system. However, if your score is 700+, then it all depends on other aspects of the application such as your essays, quality experience, extraw curricular activities & more importantly your interview( if you are short listed for it ) . I am sure ADCOM looks for the FIT. Unless they are sure that their MBA program suits your aspirations and your profile is suitable to the school, it would be difficult to make it not only to Oxford but also to any top B- School.

If your score is around 700, then the best wayfor you is to concentrate on other parts of the application. My GMAT score is 700 and my application has been shortlisted for the interview. I had my interview on March 12th in Delhi and now waiting anxiously for the final result which will be released on March 23rd. Interview was a very nice and an exciting experience for me .

Hi all,

Just realized I haven't introduced myself. I am budablasta, friends call me buda! I scored a 710 in the GMAT yesteday and, after a short and swift round of severe depression, I am back on track to applying for Said, my dream bschool
! It's going to be a tough squeeze as I am looking at R3. Ok, I am also looking at R5 of Cambridge as well. Only a month left to put together the essays and recommendations! But I am confident I will pull through.

Would seriously appreciate any help, advice, critique or even just a holler!

Thanks,
buda

Hi There. All the best in your apps. Im a R1 admit. I'd recommend really nailing that second essay -- the topic is broad because they want to see what kind of thinker you are.

Hey enkie, I have been reading so many of yours posts in this forum, particularly in this Oxford thread, that it's almost like I know you! Please, I am just starting on my essays and while I am confident I can do a good job of it in one month, I really need all the encouragement, PM tips, links to the best forum pages, etc!!

By the end of the month. Hopefully I could pull off a good score. Anyhow, would you know if the IELTS requirement needs to be completed on the same time as the other requirements?

Checking email every single minute even though the decision notification is going to be released several days later.
I think you guys who participated in the interview feel the same as what I feel.
Hope your success in the admission and see you at SBS as co-students.

Same here. Next 10 days are going to be very crucial for me as the results of the four universities for which I had given my interviews will be released in these ten days... Starting with Oxford on Marhc 23rd... there are three more universities which will release their decisions in the last week of march ... This '10-day' period is probably going to be the longest one of my life ... :))

If there's one thing I've observed, it's that the gmat would appear to matter less to British management programs compared to their American counterparts.

The average gmat score at LBS is even lower than SBS, and they are both top 20 programs. I must say I find it heartening that UK schools focus more on applicant accomplishments and world views vs. the results of a standardized test.
