@nink, your insights have been incredibly helpful on this! Thank you very much.

Folks - I got an e-mail from Yale today asking why I hadn't responded to my interview invitation that they sent on 10/21. Apparently, it got sent directly to my work's spam servers, and I hadn't checked my app status since the beginning, (dumb, but I didn't want to psyche myself out by checking fanatically).

Make sure you do your due diligence, and check your spam filters!!

Buddy,

I think there are a lot of members who actually do not complete their profile and list the schools they are applying to/invited for interview.
Further there are some others who just browse this forum and do not post anything.

I believe that Yale has invited lot more applicants than we think looking at the stats in this thread.
Yale being such a small class provides it ample opportunity to get lot more choosier.

I have not browsed last year's thread but I just get a feeling that those who do not get invite by end of this week should direct their energies to
some other schools. A month is enough to shortlist candidates and send out invites for R1.

Maybe Yale should come up with an update on it's website about the date until they will send out the invites - similar to what Ross does.

All the best to those who got invites and those who will be applying in the next round.
As for those R1 applicants waiting for invites - may the Force be with you all!! :-D

Definitely in the 'How can you contribute to the SOM community' question. This is where I took the time to show what kind of research I'd done, and what different groups I'd spoken to.

My application status still says Submitted. Does it mean that the Adcom hasn't started reviewing my application?

this forum is silent as hell. and number of posts seem to be directly proportional to the number of interview invites handed out by SOM.

Did someone research and suggest that all invites are handed out by thanksgiving?

I called up the Yale admissions office yesterday and spoke to one of their admission officers. I asked her till what date can we expect to receive the interview invites ? She told me that only a little more than 1/3rd of the invites have been sent and Yale will continue to send invites till the last week of November or maybe even the 1st week of December.
So lets not give up hope so soon..!! I'm sure a lot of invites are still on the way...!!

Did she surely mean 1/3rd of the invites meant for the first round or did she mean 1/3rd of the invites meant for all the rounds? Sorry for being paranoid. Waiting for more than a month has made me lose a bit of hope.

Well.. I'm sure she meant 1/3 of the invites for Round 1... She also very clearly said that Yale will continue to send invites till the last week of November and if need arises till the first week of December...
Don't worry... Just get your mind of the Yale interview invite and I'm sure it will pop into your mailbox very soon...!! :-D

If you want something cheap, Courtyard (Marriott) is a good option. They even run shuttle buses.

If you want something classy and nice, The Study at Yale is tough to beat

I just want to make sure that we are allowed to do the campus visit activities, including the class visit, with someone else (wife or parent).

When I was on campus, there was one young college-aged guy who was visiting B-Schools with his dad. Not sure if the dad sat in on classes, but he was definitely along for the campus tour portion.
