Yes, this is the biggest problem which most of us face while preparing for the GMAT. We know the concepts and we practice a lot of questions, yet when we see a new question which is slightly twisted, it throws us off balance. What is really important is that you should be able to identify the pattern in the questions instead of plainly practicing the questions. Pattern recognition is the way to go on the GMAT.

" pattern recognition" means , question is from geometry => related to circles => applying circle properties
or Question from SC => //ism is tested =>
or does it mean something else. can you please explain it in detail, if possible with example
THanks

this is not what I meant to say.
The current material is more than enough to fully prepare you for the GMAT.

@Zynga - Sorry to hear about you score bro. As everyone said, implementing a concept into real questions is challenge for everyone. We need to do more practice, i guess.

Can you provide more details about your verbal part? What was the split for SC/CR/RC? How many RC did you get and the difficulty level for each of SC/CR/RC compared to GMATPrep and MGMAT?
I'm taking my GMAT tomorrow. Any insight will be truly appreciated.

Cheers!

Kudos
@Capricorn369
The verbal split was pretty standard.very similar to what you see in the MGMAT and GMATprep CATS.
I got 4 RCs and two of them were fairly tough.none of them were too long though.
Rest was split between SC and CR
I also got 2 complete the sentence questions and one of them was very difficult.

Thank you Zynga for the quick response. Kudos to you!
btw, how was SC? I understand that idioms have been removed from SC but how was the difficulty level of SC?
I only need V36 ;-)

Cheers!

It's pretty weird that they are coming out with these fill the blank verbal questions. I think you're right in re-evaluating your strategy and giving it another try in the future. Good luck!

To be honest with you, I never tried to memorize all the idioms.I mostly went by my ear.I thought the SCs were a fair mix.So decently easay and some tough.
I thought I did horribly in my verbal and still ended up scoring 35.
So V36 should not be a problem for you
All the best

Bummer. I would recommend the MGMAT Math Foundations.

there is also a new book from MGMAT - GMAT Plan. It is not anything top secret but a great collection of GMAT advice and common sense that sometimes we don't quite apply to our prep.

I would bet you could get 700 with just those 2 books (the GMAT Plan one is pretty casual)

Thanks Bro.
My 2 cents - to improve quant, you might want to consider Knewton course ($350 value). My verbal improved a lot and i think, quant is also pretty good.
Cheers!

@bb:
I tried searching for MGMAT -GMAT plan book, but didn't find anything.
Are you referring to the MGMAT - GMAT Roadmap book ?
