Take Old or New GMAT?

I'm ready to take a prep class and sit for the GMAT sometime early next spring.
I am thinking about taking it after the new version of the GMAT comes out. The reason for this is that I work with spreadsheets, charts, regressions, etc all day at work, so I believe that I would score considerably higher on the integrated reasoning (new) portion of the GMAT than I would on the essay portion.
What would be the best course of action here? Would the admissions committee give less weight to my potentially high integrated reasoning score because of the nature of my work? (Also, I attended a fairly "quantitative" undergraduate school, if that has any merit).
On one hand I want to take it now because I feel I'm ready (and I've read articles from prep programs advising candidates to take it now). On the other hand I want to wait because I believe I'd score well on the new section. Help!
Thanks!
