Hi
I am a 24 yr old Indian Male currently working IT Sector having 15 Months of Experience. Would be grateful if you could provide me a profile Eval/Career Advice.
My Existing Profile is as Follows
GPA 6.1/10(61%) in Mechanical Engineering from N.I.T Jalandhar (belonging to a list of prestigious state sponsored schools)
GRE 800Q + 610V AWA 4.0 (will prolly be obsolete by the time i submit my BSchool App) TOEFL 100
A certificate in software testing from ISTQB and two internships in manufacturing companies.
I have a pretty average-below average undergrad score (wasnt serious enough coupled with a department high of 8/10). Although I did everything to get into a core job, I couldnt and had to satisfy with a poorly paid easy software job
My ultimate aim is to pursue MBA in US from a top 10-20 college(I am excluding top 10 coz my undergrad being so horrible they wont consider me anyway and m not a genius to develop something overnight or too risk averse to go down the entrepreneurship bandwagon
I am currently applying to MEM(Duke, Cornell CWRU) and IE (NCSU VTech and TAMU) programs in US with the hope that
1. i would study hard there.. manage a >3.5 GPA there and improve my academic credentials for MBA app, gain international work ex.
2. Also working in US would help me fund the MBA with the dollar paycheck, also since i would have close to 3-5 yrs of experience).
Do you think its a correct approach?? Also could you give me some tips as to how i can improve the likelihood of admit, also to a top 10 school
