Schools:
Am currently looking to apply to HBS,Stanford and Yale for their 2+2 or similar programs( Yale has immediate admission). on the Msc front, am looking to apply to MIT and LSE(UK).
I currently feel that if i get into any of these, i would accept it and if none of them hit, then ill work for a few years and gain experience before i apply again. I wanted to know whether that is a good way of going about things,or should i apply to other colleges as well? And if others, which colleges should i apply to that offer 2+2 or similar courses?
I want to do an MBA in Finance or General Management. I am also considering the Masters in Finance courses in case i dont get into the 2+2 programs so that i can get a basic understanding in the field which will allow me to work in a relevant company before i apply for the MBA again.
I have a few questions:
1.I still want to know MBA wise, how good a chance do i stand(considering my college acads havent been top notch)
2. Is my profile competitive for the programs i have listed?
2. What other 2+2 or similar programs can i apply for?
3. I have had 9 months of work ex with internships, so can i take 2 recommendations from company execs or should i take one from a professor?
Thanks
Sid
While IESE (Young Talent Program) and Indian School of Business (Young Leaders Programme) also offer similar programs for young applicants to MBA programs, they (and HBS's 2+2 and Yale's Silver Scholars) do typically only accept applicants with high GPAs and GMATs. Your GMAT obviously fits that description, but your GPA is not among the top of your class, so it will be more difficult to prove that you are ready for the academics of these programs.
You should choose the recommendations that best highlight what makes you exceptional. If you made exceptional contributions to the companies in your internships, then it makes sense for you to seek recommendations from those. However, in your case, since your academic ability is slightly in question, it would make a lot of sense to submit a letter from a professor - but only if you performed exceptionally well in his/her class.
