No problem. Your plan looks pretty solid.
I LOVE the Excel Calendar!!!! Great job.

One comment I do have is about taking practice tests on weekends - there is no use to take Verbal or Math tests BEFORE you have actually covered the appropriate books. So instead of spending 4 hours on a Sat taking a test you have not really prepared for, it would be a better use of time to go through the questions included in the guide or some other targeted practice, e.g. arithmetic questions only or SC only.

What you can do is take only the Math Portion of the MGMAT tests and then once you are done with the Verbal section, take the verbal tests that you have skipped.

Since you are taking a practice test this weekend, I will be happy to comment/provide additional insights after your "starting" score is identified.

P.S. you scheduled your test for 9/11

Re: Please evaluate my study schedule [#permalink]
Alright just finished my first GMAT Prep exam.

Quant: 46
Verbal: 37
Total: 680

This was with no studying. I suppose I'm ok with this score for now, but my goal is 760+. I found it very similar to the SAT (I scored 1510/1600 on that).

Anyway, I will continue with my plan I guess and hope for 700's soon.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wow - well done.

I would skip most of math books and just get the MGMAT Number Properties book and OG. For extra-hard Math practice (700+ level) you can check out GMAT Club tests. Make sure you are comfortable with Probability and Combinations (combinations-permutations-and-probability-references-56486.html).

Put all of your time into the Verbal - you can invest into the MGMAT SC, PowerScore CR/MGMAT CR, and MGMAT RC and that should give you a boost to hop over the 700 mark. Then some practice and test taking practice will get you closer to your dream number.

I'm actually currently filling out my schedule as well, and when I finish, I will post up my final version. That way people can see a better day-by-day breakdown.

But feel free to use the template for yourself. :)

Just want to add something:

I use schedules like this for big tests, because it keeps things in perspective for me. I may not necessarily know what I will be studying on Tuesday 3 weeks from now, but I do schedule in important landmarks early on in my studies. In this case, I've scheduled in dates that I would like to take practice exams. I also like to keep the next week or two filled up with a plan of study. Sometimes you are a little ahead of schedule and other times you are behind, so you can adjust your schedule accordingly.

Of course, you should always adapt your plan depending on need. The schedule I have now is already different from what I posted at first. I don't know if most people consider this being anal, but it works well for me.

Any updates about this plan? Now that you have taken the test ( I assume you did, from the schedule) what was the score. Any update that you want to make to the schedule after you have taken the test?

HI Bb and topher,
thanx for this calendar..But can you guys please rename the latest calendar with some identification name, like Gmat_schedule_new.xls.. or naming year wise like gmat_schedule_2010.xls
because first time visitors to this thread will have to download both in order to find out latest one...:)
thanx

I noticed the updated spreadsheet listed the number of hours that would be ideal for studying, but how does one gauge progress/performance based on 80hrs for Quant/80hrs for Verbal as it pertains to their test date? I've read a few stories where people were scoring consistently in the mid 600's before their actual GMAT exam and scored in the mid 700's on test day. If my goal was 700+(the name fits lol) but my practice scores are low to mid 600's how do I determine if I should reschedule the exam or simply go into battle?

I think I asked the same question twice but the second one stated my question in detail....I guess lol
