Neither can I. I think we are in the same boat! I absolutely have to get into b-school this year. I may be wrong, but I think 2014 is going to be best year ever for MBA students. The opp cost for going for studies this year is just so low too, with the global economy in the doldrums.
Hope both of us can get into either Olin or another b-school of our choice :-D Chins up.

I really hope so too! Good luck :)

Hello everyone, I am an international applicant. I just received Olin's interview invitation. I will get a face to face interview with Ms. Jan Snow. Can anyone share interview experience with her? Thanks a lot.

WOW. Congrats Jacobwang! When did you submit your app to the school?
BTW, if you need some advice with your upcoming interview, you might want to contact neosummit. He interviewed with Ms. Jan Snow and should be able to provide you with some tips on how to ace that interview.

All the best, Jacobwang. Do share your experience here after your interview !

Thank you for your information.
I submitted my application in Jan 2nd. It's really a long wait. The interview will be conducted two weeks later. I will come back then.

Hello Alums and seniors,

Recently I came across a few articles that mention GMAT score is very important to get the job interviews.
If possible, I would like to know the following..

1.) How many companies that come to Olin for hiring keep such a criteria?
2.) If so, how much GMAT score was / is expected?
3.) What happens to the GRE guys if there were any in previous batches in such cases?

From what I know, this is mostly true in the consulting and IBanking Industries. 700+ is expected.
Companies are less progressive than schools in hiring metrics, so I expect them to continue using GMAT scores as a gauge instead of GRE. If you do use your GRE, it will probably be looked at but the score will not carry as much weight. Just imagine that your hiring manager is an MBA and took the GMAT and is not familiar with the GRE. Which score do you think he or she can better identify and undestand?

Rd2 Applicants deposit is coming up on Feb 15.
Although Olin is one of my top choices, by that date I would still not have heard from my other top choices yet. I want to make the most informed decision.

Does anyone know how to ask for an extension?

Hey guys -

Would someone please share his/her interview experience with the AdCom? Were the typical questions asked? Any oddball questions?
Hope that someone in this forum could help shed some light on the interview process.
Thanks, everyone!

I had an interview with Ms. Jan Snow yesterday. The interview is conversational and just talking about the culture, history, politics and my life. :) No many whys. just relax and be yourself.

Hi!

I have an interview with Olin coming up and I am speaking with Mr. Andrew Toussaint. I have read posts from people on here about Jan Snow and Kevin, but nothing about Andrew.

Has anyone interviewed with Andrew? Can you give me any information about what to expect and if there is anything in particular I should have prepared?

Thank you so much!

It is so quiet out here. Is Olin still sending out interview invites for R3 applicants?

My interview with Mr. Andrew went well. Felt very comfortable talking with him. (in fact, all admission people always try to make you feel comfortable). He told me about the ranking of Olin. He said ranking is important to both the students and the school. He said that Olin's ranking may go up this year.
My 1st interview was with Owen, and I prepared tons of things but it didn't work. For the interview with Olin, I didn't prepared much. I just noted down some lines on my favourite subjects and things I really like about Olin, and 2 questions I want to ask him. Relax and you will see that you enjoy the interview. Worries damage your nerves and brain.

I am impressed by the quick turnaround time by the adcom! Good job by the school !
And congrats to you, Jacobwang ! :-D

Did you get any $$$ along with your admit? And how did you learn of your admit? Was it through an email or a call from Ms Jan Snow? You must be really happy now that you are going to a great program this fall.
