Definitely IMD should be in the UE List!!!

LBS is the king of banking
Insead is the king of Consulting
IMD is the king of Industry

Each of these schools have their strengths and from my side I chose IMD over Insead.

Bsd_lover, This ranking should not be taken lightly. Gmat club is one of the most informative forum out there and the MBAs prospects should have access to fair info and not only to your personal opinion.

Don't forget that from 1990 to 2005 at least Insead and IMD were considered as the two best MBA in Europe. It is just recently that LBS has become well reputed.

Here are some info for the rankings using the Web2.0 media for your thoughts :)

Interesting stats from Facebook:

INSEAD (https://www.facebook.com/insead)

Talking: 214
Were here: N/A

LBS (https://www.facebook.com/LondonBusinessSchool):
Talking: 391
Were here: 5,179

IMD (https://www.facebook.com/imdbschool):
Talking: 902
Were here: 1,230

Stats from Youtube:

INSEAD (https://www.youtube.com/user/INSEADoffic ... sults_main):
Subscribers: 3,329
Channel views: 736,013

LBS (https://www.youtube.com/user/LondonBusin ... sults_main):
Subscribers: 1,396
Channel views: 259,376

IMD (https://www.youtube.com/user/IMD?ob=0&fe ... sults_main):
Subscribers: 1,199
Channel views: 1,153,954

IMD well compensates for its small class with the bigger than LBS executive education program. If we believe wikipedia, IMD has 8,000 senior execs in one year whereas LBS has 3,000. Plus, due to the on-campus facilities (e.g. restaurant) and program structure, IMD alums have access to the senior execs with the support from the Career Services to senior execs during lunches or shared programs like "Orchestrating Winning Performance". And it must be easier to accommodate it with 90 people then swamping visiting execs with 400 students :)

Having said that, LBS's strong side is the clubs and London's proximity to headquarters and, thus, guest speakers. But, nonetheless, what I'm trying to say IMD clearly belongs in UE bucket with all my respect to LBS and its stronger sides and the fact that I may end up going to LBS!

Its hard to compare Copenhagen Business School (CBS)and RSM (Erasmus). In terms of diversity and quality of recruiters, faculty and student quality, and future career prospects RSM is in a league which is way above CBS. CBS is a good school (the best school in Denmark) if you'd like to work in Denmark. Even within the Nordic region there are the likes of Helsinki School of Economics and Stockholm School of Economics - they are at par with or perhaps better than CBS in some respects.

RSM is above CBS, but CBS is definitely the most highly rated school in Scandinavia/Nordic - triple crown and higher international rankings than Stockholm and Helsinki. Europe is a pretty big area to call 1 region, maybe if it was split Northern and Southern Europe, CBS would be in there. Also, EI should be Elite, it definitely has the marks for it

Dear whiteneck:

FT rankings:
Desautels is 3rd in Canada (behind Rotman and Schulich)
HEC is not ranked; that is, not among the top 100 programmes in the world

BW:
Desautels and HEC are 5th and 6th in Canada, respectively (behind Queen’s, Ivey, Rotman and Schulich)

QS:
Desautels is 5th (behind Ivey, Rotman, Queen’s, Sauder)
HEC is 8th (further behind the above and Schulich and Alberta)

Forbes:
It is more difficult to compare since they split 1- and 2-year programmes, but whatever.

"Maybe best schools in Quebec. Definitely not in Canada."

Why does it matter that they are very good schools in Quebec? Is there anything wrong with Quebec?

Using your logic:

Ivey: "Maybe best school in Western Ontario. Definitely not in Canada."
Queen's: "Maybe best school in Eastern Ontario. Definitely not in Canada."
UofT: "Maybe best school in downtown Toronto. Definitely not in Canada."
York: "Maybe best school in North York. Definitely not in Canada."
UBC: "Maybe best schools in BC. Definitely not in Canada."

Re: Ranks and clusterings of various International b-schools [#permalink]
QS just released the most comprehensive ranking I've seen yet with its "QS Global 200 Business Schools Report". You can access the report here: https://www.topmba.com/articles/qs-globa ... eport-2012

The report breaks down the ranking by regions, by elite status (global elite, regional elite, etc.) and by topics (CSR, leadership, strategy, finance, marketing, etc.).

I was expecting to see Harvard, Insead & LBS consistently ranked in the top 10 for all categories, but I was surprised to see IE also part of this group of schools ranked in the top 10 for all. It seems that IE is consistently ranking at the top for all publications in 2012. Is there any explanation for this?

What about the Technion Israel Institute for Technology Start-uP MBA? I know the technion is a really great school and I am excited that they are advertising a brand new MBA that is focused on entrepreneurship and innovation and is located in Tel Aviv. What do you guys know about the Technion and about their business school?

Why? Israel is one of the most advanced countries in the world technology wise, and I just read something about the technion having an unprecedented 3 Nobel prizes in 7 years. Surely that should put them on the world map no?
