Thanks jerrykid! I will have to contemplate......

Also, does submitting a new LOR even help even if it provides new info? Just wondering because:
1. Adcom has limited time and patience and probably dont want to read anything more than a page.
2. There is no format to the LOR so its really very informal.
3. Judging by the history of others who got off waitlists and didn't submit LORs.

I just dont want to piss my recommender off by asking for another letter so late in the game (he submitted a few recs for other schools for me and its been almost a year since we've been talking MBA).

Advice?

I think that only when your LORs are really strong, insightful, and adding values other than what you have presented in your application package, should you have them submit.

I'm wondering whether any R1 waitlisters who got accepted in R2 also received scholarships from the school? Is there anyone out there who was waitlisted but then still received a scholarship?

What's the likelihood of this ocurring for R2 waitlisters?

Someone MAY have received $$ from the R1 wait list; it was unclear from his or her post. I could see the scenario where Booth offers $$ to someone they want that fills a unique profile. If that person drops out, and there is no one similar that was admitted already but there is someone similar on the wait list, Booth may shift the $$ to this person on the wait list. I think this is not a likely scenario to play out so I personally wouldn't count on $$ from a wait list standpoint. $$ is usually reserved for students the school REALLY REALLY want, and well, let's face it, if the school REALLY, REALLY wanted us we wouldn't be on the wait list. (This is not to say the school wouldn't want to have us but we are on the wait list either because there are either many people already like us that received offers and/or they are unsure about one aspect of our profile. This doesn't scream scholarship money).

Scholarships??? Ha, just get me in!

On a more serious note, how are you guys submitting updates? Via e-mail or uploading to the website?

Well gotta decide if pursuing the Chicago wait list is worth it with other options on the table...hence the $ question.

Chances of scholarship money for wait-listed applicants upon acceptance seems highly improbable. In addition to the good points made by Consulting2Finance, scholarships are nearly all handed out in R1 and R2. This is stated on Booth's website itself. I definitely wouldn't count on it.

AFAIK none of the R1 waitlisters got any money. Same for last year. C2F makes all the right points above. I can go out on a limb n say that the probability of R2 waitlisters getting any money is also close to zero.

To all the double WaitListers out there,

Have you guys submitted additional material since the second WL? Has anyone done a second video? If so, how did you submit it? Doesn't seem like there's a way to upload it on the status page. Thanks, and best of lucks to everyone. Remember to submit all your letters/videos by April 30th.

Upload it through your application account. There's a part where you could upload it. Please look for this:

Portfolio

Video submission is restricted to waitlisted candidates only.

Edit Portfolio

Click on Edit Portfolio, and follow instructions to upload your video. You could either upload it, or drag it onto the website.

I think I'll finalize my materials this weekend.

Best of luck,

Just uploaded my video and additional letter yesterday. I also emailed the information as an attachment and with a youtube link to my video. I hope they don't see that as overkill!

The video is just me talking interview style with my workspace in the background. With only 90 seconds I wanted to just stick to a couple of topics and show that I will definitely go if accepted!

Are the chances of getting off the waitlist as bad as this thread makes them out to be or is this just a bunch of people speculating on data they think is true?

Re: Booth 2012 - Calling All Waitlist Applicants [#permalink]
I guess this pretty much sums it up. Not much double waitlisters can do to improve their application. This is the transcript from the Live Chat from April 25th. Time to just wait and see if miracles happen...

ME: Hi, do you have any suggestions for applicants who were waitlisted in both Rd1 and Rd2? I have already submitted several update letters, the video, and two additional letters of recommendation. Is there anything else waitlisted applicants can do to show their commitment to attending Booth, if given the opportunity? Thank you for your response.

kurt: Unfortunately I don't have any additional recommendations. If you feel you have been thorough in presenting your case to the committee than it is simply a matter of waiting for the decision

I was on the above chat as well and Kurt's comments were rather interesting. I feel the video is the only thing that really matters now. Previously, it was best to get as many letters and updates but now, I think it is not highly valued.

Uploaded my materials today! I added a video and included an update letter.

I'm feeling pretty good about how things turned out. Counting the days until May 16th!
