Very inspiring story...

thanks for sharing...

Could u give me some tips about time management??...i am really suck at this...i get panicked every time I set stopwatch and thereby unable to focus on the questions. I am not quick at reading the question and extract the meaning . I know if it takes me more than 2 times read to understand the question than I would never be able to finish on time. but this thing happens frequently in my case..what to do???

Good patience bro..Taken out for mentioning such a huge post...Gives a good info for scope of major improvements which i have been looking for not that i am standing in at 560.. :( .. I need to mug up big time... What do you suggest me?

I truly found this to be one of the most motivating debriefs on the forum that i've read ( 10+ today). I am going to use your advice and focus a ton on the MGMAT resources and as many official questions as I can get. I just made a topic about my experience and had some questions and you did more than enough to answer them!

can u suggest me how i can rais my verbal score from 16 to 32.

as a Bangladeshi, i scored on testprep q-more than 44 but verbal less than 17.

Great post.

One question to the sentence above. It would be really helpful for other members if you could write down your findings about which question types you think are more relevant. Maybe not too detailed because this would clearly take a lot of your time. But at least by touching the surface of important SC, DS, PS,... questions.

Furthermore how would to explain combinations/permutations in such a short paragraph (5 sentences) and which are the 2/3 sample question types. This would be so valueable!

Congrats! Really a great post. Please answer:
You have mentioned about Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review and Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review. Please mention which one? When I searched it on google, I found OG for verbal by 2 punlcishers. Which one did u refer? Thanks!

Let me begin by congratulating you on the great score and the massive move up from 550 to 750. However, my main reason for posting is that your post has got to be one of the most inspiring posts I have read about gmat preparation here on gmatclub or anywhere else for that matter. I was sort of meandering around with my prep efforts before I came across your story. Reading your tips and strategy has been of immense help to me. I got a 670 today with Q45 V37 (its my first attempt), which I know isn't exactly a platinum level score. But I moved from a 550 with a miserable Q32 in my first gmat-prep to that score in about 2 months. The advice on quant prep was the clincher for me as that has always been my weak area. I believe the idea of hammering away at the basics and understanding the patterns just can't be appreciated enough. Also, all the other folks on here, the seniors in particular, have been a source of some wonderful information. Thanks for the valuable words and here's hoping that you would be well on your way getting into your desired program by now risys82.

Amazing debrief. I cannot imagine 10 pages of replies on a debrief. That just goes to say the value of your debrief. Since I am just starting off my prep, I thought I'd start with reading through some of the experiences and what better to start with the best debrief discussions....For me the main takeaway is that OG is theeeee source and the fact that we do not necessarily need to answer all questions correctly. This one is especially important for me since I make every question an ego issue. :(

I hope I am able to contribute even 10% of this debrief to the community :)
