Great opinion. Did you apply to any of the top schools and can you please expound on whether you got admits from these any of those schools and if not they why not ? Your reply would be really helpful as I intend to apply this year and it'd be great if I can learn from somebody else ;)

I don't visit the forum often now so apologize. Yeah, I had admits from a couple of schools but since I didn't have any intent of staying back in the US in the long term, i thought of taking admission in one of the schools in India itself. Different people, different priorities :)

consistency is what was missing in my first attempt. i would study a lot for a couple of days and then take a long break because of some or the other issue coming up in my life..i eventually ended up paying the price for that. read your post thoroughly and enough it..thanks a lot for putting it up

Hmm...that's a very valid point and something i had been trying to keep in mind from early on. During my undergrad prep, I realized that consistency makes all the difference. Otherwise you are doomed

Add to that, the right way to do things is also important, moreso on the gmat. initially when i started my prep, i would mindlessly go on solving a lot of problems but wouldnt give time to analyze the mistakes. I realized that i was not improving a lot because of that so changed my strategy- did fewer questions but made sure that i understood the reasoning of why certain answers are correct and why are others incorrect. Supremely important it is

True that. It's so important to prepare the right way. Number of hours of study is not very important..how we utilize those hours is more important

Totally agree. The GMAC recently did a survey in which the average number of hours people scoring 700+ scores was 100+. I think it's on the lower end because most of us who have scored well would study at least 2x of that but certainly what you study and how you study in those hours is critical to your success

Congratulations on the score. I'm thoroughly impressed by the efficiency with which you handled your prep. I must have spent countless hours over a period of ~4 months but the one thing i lacked was consistency, I believe. I ended up with a score of 670 on my actual GMAT when atleast 4-5 of my mocks were better than that.

I'm pretty confident about SC. I need help with CR & RC - I have exhausted most of the OG questions & all of the Manhattan questions. Any chance you can detail the plan for CR & RC more?
