Hi strangebrew,
First, congratulations on increasing your GMAT score from 690 to 730, as that will be very helpful in your applications. Your strong academic performance at University of Madras and University of Minnesota will also be a very significant asset in your application.
The biggest challenge for you in applying to business school is your age and experience. You will be on the older end of applicants. My team and I at
Stratus Prep have worked successfully with many older applicants, but you do have to be careful in the way you position yourself. You absolutely need to apply this year, and you need to apply to enough schools to be sure you are are admitted in this cycle. Applying with six years of work experience is the last real chance most applicants have for admission to top schools. Sometimes seven years of experience (and 30+ age) works but this is very atypical.
You also need to be sure to distinguish yourself from the countless other Indian male engineers, which is something we have done successfully with countless applicants.
You definitely have a good chance at the schools you listed. I recommend that you look at some US schools as well unless there is a reason you want to study in Europe. For working in the Asia Pacific region in the future, I think INSEAD, Stanford or Haas would be good options especially given your profile.
I think that your short-term goal is clear and strong, but your long-term goal needs to be much more specific and clearly connect to your experience and short-term goal. Deciding on and articulating your career goals is one of the many services included in our comprehensive admissions counseling packages. If you are interested in learning more about working with
