whats up guys.... I m again here to motivate you all and get motivated from fellow friends. I m again going to start my prep after a long time as I have found the time runs so fast and the life gives u 100 reasons of not giving Gmat again. So I have decided to start from tomorrow with a strong determination to study and to exercise daily even if I get 10 mins for each.

So guys stay healthy and rock the life !!

I am currently working my way through RC-99 : 4 passages per day.
I am through with 20 passages so far.Accuracy is still all over the place.I seem to do well on science related passages ,every other topic is a big mess

Hello All,
I am a new joiner to the GMATCLUB forum. I have a very less idea on the usage part of this forum. So kindly apologize, if I am posting to wrong sections.
To be honest, I found this forum as quite interesting and useful. So thought of starting from here :)
Just to introduce myself in few words,
I have been working for a company for the past 4.5 years. And now, I have decided to take GMAT in the coming days(Near Future). This would be my first attempt taking GMAT.
So could anyone please guide/help me in moving forward ??

And also, can you please let me know, is there any option of online chat/discussion available in this site? if so, kindly provide me the details.

Thanking In Advance!!

I finished the MGMAT SC book before I gave my practice CAT. and still made some stupid mistakes on SC.
I need to go through the MGMAT SC book again or something more concise than that.
My verbal score is stuck between 34-36 currently.I am just not able to push it past 36...any tips? suggestions ?

I have to score..and I will score..
I recently gave Gmat and score 640.(Q 50, V 27)..prepared for 1 months..daily 14-15 hrs...
and got lowest score in verbal in the main test itself...

Anyways...failure gives us learnings..and one more chance of improvement..

Again energised myself...and planning to target RC as my performance in RC was fluctuating.
Going to read books suggested by BB...

Plan is like read lots of stuff...and everyweekend..give one test..
Anyhow...somehow...manage office..and get atleast 3 hours of dedicated study..

Thanks Once Again Dude... :-D

You should not even find online. It hardly costs much. It is a good book so just buy it.

Start with one section at a time and once you are comfortable with it you may reduce the time spent on it and introduce other section. Similary do for the third section.

Still what has to be done has to be done. try to read some topics that you like, once you are able to read the things online, boring topics would become less boring. You gotta practice hard.

Why not buy aristotle sc books and you may even enroll for e-gmat/gmat pill for SC . You may start with aristotle and see how it goes. Keep e-gmat and gmatpill as last option as you already scoring fine.

It would be good for you if you get familiar with the forum. Please find BB's suggestions here : books-to-read-improve-verbal-score-and-enjoy-a-good-read-76079.html

But do not forget to spend some time doing R n D here.

It is a tough job for anyone to help you learning how forums work. You have to spend some time to get used to it. The more you try better results you would yield.
You may start from here : new-to-the-gmat-club-start-here-130870.html
But do not forget to go through all the forums and tools available here.

Re: For all those who fear from Verbal- lets give it a fight [#permalink]
I have started my Gmat prep again today. I m currently enrolled in E-Gmat course and found it quite interesting.
You guys can check the free trials before purchase. I m not affiliated to e-gmat nor I have been asked to promote it. You guys can check the free trials and decide whether to purchase.
I have spent only few hours on it, but I will keep you updated about the +ve and -ve points of the course, but so far it has been quite interesting.

Strategy: Since this is my second attempt, m not going to leave my previous prep material.

SC : E-Gmat, MGMAT SC, official guides, Gmatprep, MGMAT tests, Aristotle SC book and questions. And few compiled e books of quick tips from forum members.
CR : E-Gmat, Powerscore, few LSAT quickies from aristotle( Gmat Centric),official guides, Gmatprep, MGMAT tests

RC: E-Gmat, RC99( not all depends upon time ),official guides, Gmatprep, MGMAT tests

Powerscore and Mgmat SC = 3-4 Man days for me but for a new comer I would suggest him to spend a lot of time on them.

This is a tentative plan and this time I m going to spend more time understanding the meaning of the sentence even if I have to compromise the time for practising the questions. Quality matters a lot.

Today I have started with E-Gmat SC and I will be comparing the topics against those in MGMAT 4th edition. The new things I will note down on A4 sheet for quick review. I m not sure how to do quick review in e-gmat as I m new to the user interface, so keeping some notes won't harm and cost to me. I consider taking notes during preparation a sure shot way of remembering the concept.

So guys keep us updated and wish me good luck for my 2nd try !! Blessings are the best catalyst !!

Re: For all those who fear from Verbal- lets give it a fight [#permalink]
Thanks Guys for your wishes !!

Regarding E-gmat :
I have not gone through much but have attended few live sessions and I really liked them.
Only drawback is we need to spend a lot of time on live sessions and videos, but that is not a complaint because these are very important for sound understanding of concepts.
So being a retaker the course looks quite big to me( May be it is not. Very early to comment on the course length). I fear whether I have sufficient time to complete.

I m actually a self study guy.

My only strategy this time is to build sound fundamentals + official questions + concentration on quality and repeated practice instead of quantity.

I guess the concentration on quality and sound fundamentals would be rightly matched by e-gmat. I realized this especially after attending one CR session of Rajat. It reminded me of my engineering prep time when a lot of stress was given to build the basics. Once these are built we enjoy the study and no longer feel under-confident.
I felt the same yesterday and I hope I prove e-gmat to be a real non-native's solution by scoring high :)
