Re: Ask UNC (Kenan-Flagler) MBA Admissions

Hello,
I have a few questions regarding the importance placed on several admissions factors:
1. My undergraduate GPA was just above a 3.0. I know you do not publicly release admissions standards or information (and on that note, I would appreciate a personal message with this sort of information), but is this lower than ideal GPA a true hindrance? What is the average GPA of the admitted class for MBA@UNC
2. How much weight does work experience have? Is there a typical amount of experience (in years) that candidates have? Does managerial experience have more weight than mere corporate work experience?
3. Is the ownership of a business factored into the admissions process? I recently incorporated myself, and wondered if the experience I have gained, and will gain will influence an admissions decision.
4. Do in-state residents receive any favoritism? I recently moved to North Carolina (Raleigh), and was pleased to see that this great business school was both nearby, and online, allowing me to possibly continue working while advancing myself and my career through this program.
5. What kinds of scores are in the range of those accepted and applying to the program? What weight does the GMAT have on admissions?
Thank you for your help.
