I am as well thinking of applying in R1 of MIT, but given the 31 days gap of GMAT retake, earliest i can take it would be 10th oct, which leaves me with 14 days to send new score to MIT. GMAC informs that it usually takes 20 days to send scores, do you think 14 days time before R1 might work here ?

Double check, but I think you can self-report the score you receive at the test taking site and then have GMAC follow up with the official score report.
