I took GMAT test in 22/9 and got a disappointed 660. (Q51 V28) Now I want to improve my score, but I don't know where to begin, because I think I prepared quite carefully and did well in recent mock test. (Now I think I must have missed something and I'm trying to figure it out but still, I haven't) Anyone has suggestion?
Total preparation time: 2 months
4 first weeks: Practice on
OG and reading books:
Manhattan: SC, RC, IR
Powerscore: CR
Read all these books and finished 3/4
OG4 weeks left: Do the rest of
OG and practice test: (All of practice tests were done in full mode: Writing, IR, Q, V; and were reviewed afterwards)
1)GMAT prep1: 620. Q49 V25. I thought the test would be as easy as the first 3/4 of OG. No wonder why I got the bad result.
2)Manhanttan Test: 640. Q37 V 41. Now I realize how hard the Quantitative section is.
I stopped taking test for a few days and seriously practicing and reviewing OG and these taken tests.
3)Gmatclub: Q50, V47. Of course it was no writing and IR section. I felt confident that I have improved.
4)Kaplan: 680. Q51. Some guys on the Internet said that Kaplan's verbal section is so hard and that real GMAT score = Kaplan score + 30. --> More confident
5)Powerscore: 740, but I got so much familiar questions.
6)Veritas: 700. Q51 V37.
7)GMAT prep2: 760. I was so pleased but I didn't forget to review all Verbal section and take note about it.
I reviewed the explanation of and took note about almost all questions in OG and practice test.As I improved my score in every test, I had a thought that I will have good performance on real GMAT. I did perform well on Quantitative section (Q51) and have plenty of redundant time: 8 minutes, but I was shocked when I saw my verbal score: V28! (although I was comfortable with the timing and finish verbal section when there was 2 minutes left).
I'm targeting a course in NUS and I think this score is not sufficient, but I have no idea how to improve it. Can anyone help me?
