bb and tridevi,
I will apply to phd programs in strategy (mostly in the US but also a few outside it). Have shortlisted about 8-10 schools. Yes, I realized it early on that getting some research experience would be valuable if you are targeting top schools. Therefore I'm currently working as a RA in one of the top 20 schools. I'm hoping to get a working paper out before the application deadline.
shreerajp99 and prakharsworld,
Yes, I did review all the questions on
OG. I had both the versions with me (
OG 12 &
OG 13). Finished with
OG 12 and then did all the additional questions from
OG 13. Even though the questions on
OG are a bit easier than what you would expect on actual gmat, it still makes lot of sense to practice these questions. I wanted to do as many "official" questions as I could. GMAT Club and
MGMAT forum could be a great source for you to get practice on additional "tougher" questions, but these I believe need to be supplementary to the
OG questions.
On the actual test, quant questions were not very difficult - I got my usual share of questions on number properties, ratio & proportion, permutation etc. Reading comprehension passages were tougher than what I had encountered in my prep tests. However, I have always backed myself to do well
in RC. I could finish the verbal section with 5 mins to go.
Shreeraj99, I didn't focus much on quant other than reviewing the
OG questions. However, I did spent some additional time preparing for the DS questions as those are the most trickiest ones on GMAT.
