@nktdotgupta: I called The Consortium and they confirmed that I do NOT have to fill out the UNC application in addition to The Consortium. Thank God!

I'm applying either Round 2 or 3 pending a good GMAT. I had a question though:

I am applying through the Consortium and UNC is one of the Consortium schools, however, I saw on a thread from last year that UNC still requires you to complete the UNC application along with the Consortium. Does this mean you still have to do all of the essays required by the UNC application or do you only have to do one specific essay for UNC through the Consortium application?

What is the Consortium? Can anybody apply through them?

Kenan-Flagler has a applicant initiated interview - You need to schedule an interview.
The school interviews all the applicants.

Since UNC has an Early Action deadline, is round 2 similar to round 1 (in terms of admission chances) at other schools? Is round 3 the equivalent of round 2? I'm contemplating a round 3 (1/11/13 deadline) application submission.

From what I understand, for the most part, yes. Deadline 2 is kind of a Round 1+, Deadline 3 is kind of a Round 2+, and Deadline 4 is your typical final round. The EA round is pretty small, but because you do have a few slots filled or have a solid waitlist building up from the EA, yes, it will be just slightly tougher than your typical round 2. However, if that's the best round to apply for you, that's the best round to apply for you. Best of luck! :)

I interviewed too, skype interview with adcom member. I really enjoyed it, it was very informal, expect the normal questions, nothing tricky or extraordinary. I actually felt the adcom member who interviewed made an effort to make this interview very comfortable.

Does anyone know if more interview slots will become available as we move forward? I'm applying to "deadline two" (first non-EA deadline) and went to schedule an interview just now to find only 2 on-campus interview dates available between now and the interview deadline on 1/25. Also, there were no skype (webcam) interviews slots available.

Am I just that late to the game?

Same thing happened to me. I called admissions and they opened up a slot for a skype interview.

Well, the thread is really quiet. With no-invites from other schools, I'm placing all my bets on UNC.

Hey guys, I'm in the process of filling out the application right now hoping to submit for Round 2. For the employment document that you have to fill out, how long was your "Responsibilities" response? I'm thinking list form, no more than 2-3 lines. Anybody have any thoughts?

Live Essay Writing Workshop, presented by Admissionado

Sigh. The MBA Application essays. Who thought it was a good idea to ask people to write 2000 words before they even get INTO school? Turns out, it doesn’t matter, because someone did… and now you have to come up with the most compelling and memorable essays about leadership that you can. And then do it again for every school you apply to.

It’s not easy, but this upcoming event should help. Submit your MBA Application essay to have an opportunity to have it reviewed for free by the team at Admissionado. Three essays will be selected, and if you are one of the lucky ones, you will have the opportunity to go through your essay with Phillip Herring (admissions expert and CBS MBA) in a live session. You will need to be OK with sharing your essay with attendees (don’t worry – we’ll keep your name/private info out of it), and available and online at the time of the event to chat it up with Phillip. Even if you aren’t selected, listen in, because there will still be plenty of essay advice to go around.

Submit your essay to lauren@admissionado.com by Monday, December 3. You will find out if you are selected by Wednesday, December 5. Then join the live event on Thursday, December 6 at 6pm PST. Register Now [FREE!]
