Hello everyone,

FYI - I am an applicant from India and my application went under review on Friday (9th Nov). I had submitted my app on 13th October.

Now the anxious wait begins.

Late to the party as usual - congrats on the interview, Lois, and Dbalks, thanks for an awesome post - I found myself agreeing with everything you wrote. I would both love and hate to be in a position where the schools I applied to all offered me admission - I also only applied to places where I would absolutely want to be and which were a good fit for me. I had a great visit to Johnson and I would be very happy to be there - in short, it's not a backup in any sense.

I am somewhat disappointed that my invite was not delivered by a carrier penguin, though. :)

Two days back i got a mail from Jenna saying that they didn't receive my official GMAT scores. I have sent them my official score card immediately and yesterday she acknowledged my email. My status then changed to "CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW - WE PROCESSED YOUR APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS. MEMBERS OF THE ADMISSIONS TEAM WILL REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION. YOU WILL RECEIVE UPDATES REGARDING YOUR APPLICATION STATUS VIA EMAIL AND CHANGES TO YOUR APPLICATION STATUS. PLEASE CHECK FOR UPDATES PERIODICALLY"

Any one from India received invites?

Does anyone know Cornell's attitude towards reapplicants?
I gather that some Ross Waitlist reapplicants didn't even get an interview this year.

Hello All,

I am from India and submitted my application on the last day of deadline. My application went into 'review' status almost a couple of weeks back and so far I haven't received i/v call from Johnson.

Has anyone from India received an i/v call?

Cornell Johnson just moved to #7 from #13 in the bi-annual BusinessWeek rankings. We're pretty excited around here and good things keep happening for good reasons. Good luck, prospectives. I hope to see all of you in the fall!

How's that for my 200th GMATClub post? And 1st since b-school started...

Indeed! Everyone sitting in Roni Michaely's finance class gave a great cheer when we heard the rankings!

Congratulations Johnsonites, this is something to be proud of!! (What is the word for someone who goes to Johnson?)

Since we have you back at GMATclub for your first time since starting bschool, can you tell us how much you love Cornell so far? Any way that it exceded your expectations or where you hope it will get better?

On a personal note, I am so glad I applied in round 1 before all the rankings chasers jump in for round 2. If I were a Johnson admissions member, I would expect a wave of apps in round 2 and get more picky in round 1. But thankfully, I am not :).

I was thinking the exact same thing about the rankings chasers, I'm also really glad I applied in R1 and already visited the schoool!! I do hope that my lower than avg GMAT is not going to ruin it for me now that they will have a ton more apps from the 700+ club.

That is pretty awesome news for all those attending or looking at Johnson!
I read that one of the biggest factors in the hike for Cornell was in Student Satisfaction.
That's surprising considering some of the things I've heard about living in Ithaca!

Like the others before me have asked, can any of you current students share what it's been like thus far at Cornell/Ithaca? How has it differed from your initial expectations?

In response to everyones questions about expectations met/not met.
For me, Johnson has been incredible so far, I'm sure most of our classmates would agree as well. My expectations have been greatly exceeded.
Faculty is amazing and talented, the career management center is great and very well organized, Students here are very impressive (in addition to moving to 7th today in the BW rankings, we just took another first place title in a case competition today, bringing the total to 5) and down to earth, nice to hang out with.
Ithaca really grows on everyone, everyone complains about the cold or maybe the lack of nightlife, but not much else. When it comes to important b-school attributes, the city has a lot of advantages. You make really strong bonds with your classmates, and get a good amount of opportunities here and during weekend career trips to NYC.

Today started with frost on the ground, a trick finance quiz at 7:30 AM, CEO of Sprint spoke to us at lunch, a team from Cornell won the case comp this afternoon, school wide toast to our rankings this evening, then tomorrow will be a brief calm before the storm of our 48 hour long integrative case begins.
pretty eventful, but not far from a typical weekend at Cornell.
