Received an interview invite yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised, mainly because by commonly held beliefs I'm much too old. I applied to Stanford anyway because if you look at class profiles of work experience they usually have at least one person in mid to late 30's (or they admit people who started working at age 12). I'm in California (Oakland), 750 GMAT and a 3.66 GPA in Engineering. I don't want to share more because I know firsthand how easy it is to talk yourself out of having hope. At this point, I'm glad I didn't listen to that pessimist inside me and went through the application process. I submit to each of you that going through applying is worth it regardless of the outcome.

Now I intend to be me in the interview, and if I'm not admitted, that's OK... I will know I was true to myself and did my best. I'm not going to hand over the keys to my life to a potential decision from Stanford, and my advice as an "old dude" is that you each do the same.

Have a great weekend!

Hey all,

I'm late to this thread... my status still just says "submitted", even though I submitted in early September. Shouldn't it say "under review" by now? Or are there a lot of you out there who still haven't seen status change at all?

Status hasn't changed for anyone (even those who have been invited to interview).

Guys/Gals, if you are in the Seattle/Portland area and have received an invite please post.

I'm from Seattle and have not yet heard anything from Stanford. Was rejected w/o interview by Wharton last week, and went 0 for 4 a year ago, so I'm not necessarily optimistic.

It's game over for India dude. Couple of my friends have already gotten invites, so it's either a ding or a WL.

Doesn't gsb have to interview for a wait list? Can wait list be issued without an interview?

Their website says you can be offered a waitlist spot without an interview, and then they interview you if accept the spot on the waitlist.

You can be waitlisted without being interviewed and be interviewed later :

Quote:
If you are offered a place in the waitpool without an interview, you may be interviewed after you accept your spot in the waitpool.

We have typically seen invites being sent out on Sunday as well. Anyone receive the elusive interview invite yesterday.
Hard to believe no one in the northwest has received anything yet!
