My work Xmas party is exactly on dec 12th! Hopefully it's a "sign"!

Exactly one week to go, 7 days, or 168 hours....

DRINK .. it has been a long year ...

I'm trying to decide if I'll even be functioning enough to get myself to work on Wednesday. My office does not know that I'm applying and I'm sure I'll either be distraught (better to be at home) or so excited that I can't contain it (also better to be at home).

If accepted, I'm promptly going out to get a nice bottle of champagne and toast myself on exceeding even my wildest expectations.

I agree daltcap - it's been a long year. A very long year.

*sigh* I will be in the middle of a week-long business trip to rural Kentucky - when the email comes out I will be driving through the woods, trapped in a car with my boss...

Sounds like the beginning of a slasher flick right there.

If accepted, I'm going to celebrate by getting a nice massage. It'll finally be time to de-stress after 7+ months.

Where in rural KY? Just curious. My family is from there and aunts/uncles live there. I'm now in NJ/NY area, but still travel at the holidays.

Flying in to Lexington and staying in that area for a day, then driving over to Morehead and down to Hazard, then over to Bowling Green and Leichtfield areas before flying out from Nashville. It is going to be a busy week with the most miles I have ever put on a rental car at one time!

I'm from the rural South and used to towns that are little more than a caution light....but my boss, he has never been there and has lived in SoCal his whole life (other than when he attended Booth)....I think the culture shock will be fun to watch :)

You'll be right in the same area as my family!

Haha - yes - I think culture shock is putting it lightly for some of those areas. Should be a fun time!

Re: Harvard 2013 (HBS) - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
So I'm in an odd situation. I'm a science major at a top 3 Ivy league school (HYP) and I'm applying to HBS 2+2. I took the GMAT cold (no time to prepare) and got this wacky result...not sure how I bombed the quantitative section and aced the verbal, if anything I would've expected the opposite. 2 questions:

1. Is this good enough, combined with a 3.5+ GPA, to be stat-worthy of a school like HBS, without being someone famous?

2. Should I consider either re-taking for a 750+ or trying the GRE one last time before the final round of apps?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Five Days Left! Does anyone know what exactly happens on the Notification Date? Obviously login and get decision - but do calls come that afternoon or later in the week?

I'm going to try my best to be calm and relaxed all weekend - decorate for Christmas, bake, wrap presents... basically, anything other than obsess over Wednesday.

I fear for Monday & Tuesday... 48 hours will never pass so slowly.

At 12pm eastern, you'll get an email that says to check your status on applyyourself. If admitted, you should get a call within a week from someone on the admissions committee or a current student.
