you should be cool

Wow thanks a lot for that, I did not see that PDF on the website. I was expecting 700 or so to be the norm for this masters, which is why I was freaking out. Will being out of state hurt me at all though? I know for undergrad, UNC prefers instate students, so is it the same for masters programs?

The average is higher now, around 665 or 668 IIRC. I really don't think they care about in state vs. out. There are no mandatory requirements as far as what % of students have to be residents as there are for the undergrad program.

I'd say as long as your GMAT is in the ballpark (which it is) a great interview can be a big deciding factor. Your social intelligence plays a huge role in your eventual job search which is one of the ultimate factors for ranking a program.

Where did you get the 665 GMAT stat? also, what does IIRC mean?

Class of 2013 numbers. "If I recall correctly."

Edit: I did not recall correctly, haha.

Probably solid odds. The GMAT could definitely be better, but the GPA is solid and is probably enough to outweigh it if you interviewed well.

My 2 cents:
I got into UNC with a GRE score that has a GMAT equivalent of 640 and my GPA was 3.4, so you have a fair chance.

Well, I did my interview yesterday and I thought it went alright. I'm still super stressed though because I've had so many job interviews where I thought it went well and ended up not working out. I didn't get stumped on any questions and I asked (at least IMO) thoughtful questions so I'm hoping that it works out. From a numbers perspective, I should be OK because my GPA is decent and my GMAT is around average, plus I have lots of work experience and a few leadership positions, but you never know what can happen. Thanks everyone for your help; I'll give a more detailed profile of myself for future applicants/those still waiting if I get in.

One more question actually I guess. After interviewing, how long did it take everyone to hear back from UNC on a decision?
