Kellogg (Northwestern) 2013 - Calling All Applicants

Just curious.. did anyone who got an interview waiver and was NOT called for an interview after that, get an admit?

Congrats! When you were waitlisted last year, did you voluntarily pull out or they eventually dinged you? Did you get feedback on the weak areas of your application last year? If not, would be great if you could share your experience in figuring out where you fell short. I'm scratching my head now, not knowing which area(s) of my application could've been better.

Got the call an hour ago. The admissions officer said that the status update would take a day to reflect acceptance and he reassured that this aint a prank call!! Just curious, did any admit get any kind of email/status update?

True story - I was getting nervous because I didn't have any email from them, so I logged into this room. The Kellogg page opened and at the exact second, an Evanston number popped up on my phone!

She mentioned some specific elements of my application package (bonus points to Kellogg!) and I basically bumbled like an idiot without a lot to say.

Key take-aways:
- email later today to make it official.
- they are behind on updating the status on-line. She said it may take 24-48 hours.
- package coming in the mail that will have specific information on housing, website access, etc

I'm very excited, but to those of you on the waitlist - you have hope! I'm heading to HBS in the fall, so there's at least one spot opening for you.

What time did you get the call ?

In! Great news! Got the call, but from a 629 area code.

It was from the admissions officer who had reviewed my applications, so he even knew details from my story, etc. He said we'll get the Admitted Students login in a package in the mail in about a week, and will get more info by email tonight.

He also said my status won't be updated for a while.

Haha I made the same joke.

Literally 2 min before I posted the update.

Yeah, after identifying himself he also asked:

- How is your day going?
- It depends... what is the reason behind your call? hehehe

Poor guy, he must hear dumb jokes like mine all day long.

Mine was from an adcom, he promised a mail for later today and said I shouldn't worry about scams and others, to convince me he talked about key details that they liked in my application, couldn't expect more, so emails/mails will follow

To all those who received the call, will we receive the package in mail or by e-mail after one week? I remember her saying by e-mail. However, everyone else is saying mail.

We'll get a package in the mail which will have our admitted students portal login.

no news is just no news... we need good news..

Nothing is certain in this life, but that has been the trend evidenced by this forum. No one had received an email before getting the call today - that I know of.

And those who were accepted, like myself, were told on the phone that an updated page would take 24-48 hours.

So... that is my conclusion
